and introduce yourself.
~You must start out with open mikes, Brooklyn Gigs, Brewed

~Get INVOLVED with RISA.
Larger
venue and Coffeehouse Show performers are selected by the
following criteria:
-Talent
level
-Professional attitude
-Professional presence
-Proper fit for venue and line-up
-Involvement in RISA
-Potential draw
-Location of performer vs. gig location
-Particpation/support of RISA events
-Other various factors that may arise
*Larger
venue and coffeehouse shows incur costs (sound, venue fee,
advertising, etc...) that
are offset by member dues and by the door proceeds. It is
important that we do not LOSE
money on shows. That is why me have the above criteria for
these shows.
IT
IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU CONTACT THE PROPER PERSON FOR EACH
SHOW-IT
IS USUALLY LISTED WITH GIG. AND CONTACT THEM WITH THE DATE
YOU ARE
INTERESTED IN.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND...
We
do TRY
TO BE FAIR and
get as many folks involved as possible. With about 100 RISA
members, sometimes this is hard. Everyone is at a different
level and stage in their careers
and different shows require different levels and types of
talent. If you ever have an issue with
this, please contact us.
PLEASE
NOTE:
Most
major RISA shows are benefits
for RISA and
help fund the organization. We incur
production costs (sound, advertising, venue fees) at the
major shows. At the smaller shows,
artists do receive SOME monetary compensation from tips and
admission fees. |
